Summer '74 at it's peak
Playin rivals the all-time epic Edmundson Pavilion. China Cat is worth the listen alone, as the transition is mountainous & breathtaking.

Thank you Hunter
Hunter's Jai-Alai Fronton matrices are absolutely a joy to listen to. Perfect sound quality, great feel. Jerry just sounds so pure on these tapes, and

the rest of the band, and most importantly the vocals, have been fine tuned by the overlay of the AUD. 6-23 usually gets the most attention due to the Jam>Ship of Fools, but this show is just as interesting. The China>Rider is excellent, and the Playin' jam is intense. Not a bad performance of any song during this show. Enjoy. And thanks Hunter.
I totally agree with Evan S. Hunt!!This show has Jerry all over it and a good chooglin' pace of joy in the band as a whole. Their is so much underlying

Pre-FM SBD mixed with Jerry Moore's fabulous AUD. Feel the sensation of being interspersed into the midst of that steamy audience down in front. Think about it: June, Florida, cooked-up hall downtown Miami. A/C craps out. You ever been in downtown Miami on a June 22nd evening without any air conditioning? One word: sweat. And just suppose I'm not so critical. What's with all the complaints in the other reviews on this site? This show is well sung, well-played and well-recorded. What more could one wish than a Majestic PITB closing first set. -- A Total Knock down drag out, in and out, upside down, backwards forwards PITB -- Just the way ya like it = Provocative, HOT. Challenging, not. Yet easily entreated intro China Cat. I know you rider howling. One of Jerry Garcia's great unspoken pleasures. His presence resounds! His singing fills the gaps. Body and soul is melded as one Cauldron. This is the embodiment of the Grateful Dead in their finest hour and one of Jerry's most inspired performances. He's just draped all over it from start to finish. Looking back I have to say this show ranks in the top all-time 111, for sure. A full 40 out of 5 stars.
